As an avid FS fan, I’m sorry, but all I can say is this movie is too far-fetched! But I’ve noticed all FS movies seem to be like that/ You have to be 16 to even compete at the Olympics, and even if that wasn’t the case there’s no way a 14-year-old whose never appeared competitively on any world stage would be even considered for the team, and there’s also now way she’d be good enough without any international experience. It’s just too inaccurate. I don’t mean to be dour but that’s how I feel.

Caroline hasn’t competed at the Olympics (yet) :)I’ve been figure skating for eight years and I follow figure skating. Well, honestly, in figure skating movies, who watches them? Not just the figure skaters who are aware of the rules. When you make these kinds of movies, you have to make it as easy as they can to understand.

It was speacil affects, she had “strings” attached to her to help and a rotator (board underneath her) to help her spin. Further more, it’s a movie. Get it? A MOVIE. It’s hard to enjoy when we have critical people who think their know it alls, I bet you haven’t ice skated once in your life, or if you did, you were seriously crappy.

No spot lights number two…lol ill stop. … well also and competing at Senior Nationals hoping to win with doubles and a triple salchow? Not probable. I mean the funniest thing here is that they forgot somehow that in every competiton you skate a short and a long program. wOops.And: lights on…And: who on Earth would anyone ever think about competing on hockey blades,… I mean half of the jumps can not be performed at all without toepick… But I know..Its just a movie. Romance has no part in this story, and Disney did something very right here, which a lot of movies for adults get wrong: They let a strong female protagonist have a happy ending while SINGLE .It’s not often Disney gets this sort of thing right, so one has to assume that it happened by accident, but nevertheless, for once, Disney treats a heroine right.If you want to see actors macking on each other, there’s plenty of other movies where you can.

@mooncake21 if you look her up on wiki, she was 13. the movie came out in 2005 but you subtract a year because of production and then subtract that year from the year she was born. 2005-2004. it was filmed in 04. 2004-1991=13.

That’s a Disney movie for you. And they would have probably (I don’t know all the rules of figure skating so don’t quote me)nlet her continue. I saw at this years Olympics when a male figure skater had to stop and fix his boot string that got cut while he was skating and they gave him a set amount of time to fix it and he did. I just …gah this movie asks you to keep your suspension of disbelief too long!

@leeshqueen no you don’t not in figure skating. Tara Lipinski was 15 when she won her Olympic Gold. The age limit in the Olypics for Figure Skating is 14.

wow there are so FAST changes in this movie! the simplest of jumps…actually the FIRST jump you learn, you use your toepick, saying “ohh I’ll just use my hocky skates” is suicidalsomehow I dont think that they’d let the hocky team on the ice…

This is the movie that I first became a fan of Jake Abel’s<3 He was such a hottie in this movie and he's still a hottie today:) I love that we're both 22 yrs old and that his hometown of North Canton, Ohio is only like an hour away from where I live in Ohio. I know he lives in Los Angeles now. But its still so cool to me that he was raised in a city pretty close to me:)

Why does everyone compare this movie to Ice Princess? The concept of the movie is completely different. The only similarity is that they both focus on a female figure skater. I’d compare it to The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dream before I would Ice Princess.
